Rick Story vs Johny Hendricks official for The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale

As expected a welterweight bout between fast-rising contenders Rick Story (11-3 MMA, 4-1UFC) and Johny Hendricks (9-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) will be part of The UltimateFighter 12 Finale in December.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) first reported the bout in September, and the UFC since has made it official.

The fight is expected to be part of the Spike TV-televised main card of the event.

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale, which concludes the current season of the UFC's long-running reality series, takes place Dec. 4 at The Pearl atthe Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.In addition to crowning a "TUF 12" champ, the show features a headliner between "TUF 1" winner Stephan Bonnar and fellow light heavyweight Igor Pokrajac.

Story recently picked up his fourth consecutive UFC victory with asecond-round TKO of Dustin Hazelett at UFC 117. Story signed with theUFC in early 2009 on the heels of a six-fight win streak but thensuffered a unanimous-decision loss to John Hathaway in his promotionaldebut. Since then, though, he's submitted Brian Foster and earned decision winsover Jesse Lennox and Nick Osipczak. With the August win over Hazelett,he's now won 10 of his past 11 fights overall.

Like Story, Hendricks also is riding a four-fight UFC win streak. Andcombined with his five previous wins, two of which came in the WEC'ssince-merged 170-pound division, Hendricks is 9-0 with six stoppagewins. Most recently, the former NCAA Division I wrestling standout followedUFC wins over Amir Sadollah, Ricardo Funch and T.J. Grant with asecond-round TKO of Charlie Brenneman at UFC 117.
